If we want the research to be relevant and practical, some of the questions have to emerge from the challenges within actual districts, schools, and classrooms and in the lives of students."
On May 13, Burkhardt discussed the connection between scientific research and school improvement during the "Towards 2014: Education Research on the Leading Edge of School Improvement?" forum held in Washington, D.C., at the Academy for Educational Development Conference Center.
