Achievement Gap Resources

The Great Lakes West Comprehensive Center strives to provide the region with comprehensive resources and services to assist the state education agencies with the challenges of implementing the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and improving student learning and achievement. This webpage focuses on adolescent literacy resources to help policymakers and practitioners improve the literacy skills of adolescent readers.
The January 2008 issue of Your Access to the Region includes an article titled "The Role of an SEA in Closing Achievement Gaps” and relevant resources. Following are additional resources relating to achievement gaps. (Resources for adolescent literacy are now available at the webpage on Instruction.)

Education Trust
In addition to publications and reports the Education Trust has an activitist teacher troupe dedicated to “Achievement Gap Theater” dedicated to bringing attention to the issues of minority and disadvantaged students in the United States.
